Qasa is a fast-growing scale-up transforming the rental housing market across the Nordics. Since launching in 2014, we've been focused on making renting easier, safer, and more accessible for both landlords and tenants.

What started as a small startup is now the leading rental platform in Sweden - and we're just getting started. We're expanding across the Nordics with a highly skilled, driven team passionate about building a product that makes a real difference in people's lives.

Now, we're looking for a Lead Product Designer to take on broad, hands-on ownership of design at Qasa - leading by example, growing our design team, and helping shape how we build product to make the rental experience easier and safer for tenants and landlords. Role

As our Lead Product Designer, you will operate as a true player-coach. You will split your time between shaping high-quality, hands-on work yourself and line-managing a small, talented design team. Your goal is to set the strategic direction alongside the CPO, raise the bar on our craft, and build the structure our design practice needs to scale. You will act as the bridge between product, design, and engineering, while pioneering our shift toward an AI-first design workflow.

You'll work closely with our CPO and product team, translating strategy into design direction and own the design system, leading it from a design perspective, making sure design and engineering speak the same language.

Key Responsibilities

• Own broad responsibility for design at Qasa - craft, process, and people

• Manage and grow a team of product designers, hands-on

• Solve complex problems by mapping seamless user journeys and crafting polished, high-fidelity UI across all our markets

• Work closely with the CPO and product team to connect design with product strategy

• Lead our design system from a design perspective - components, patterns, and systems that scale

• Lead and support initiatives in AI adoption, helping the team integrate new AI tools to enhance our design workflow

• Partner closely with engineering - you speak the language and understand how developers work

• Champion user research and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions

• Set the pace: work fast, efficient, and good - and help others do the same

• Advocate for our users and usability across the organization

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong, production-focused portfolio (visual design, UI, and UX)

• Previous experience as a Staff, Principal, or Senior Product Designer

• Experience working with digital C2C/consumer-facing products. Production agency experience is a plus

• Line-management experience, and genuine interest in growing people, not just product

• Hands-on experience with and deep interest in AI

• Design system knowledge, with the ability to lead a design system team from a design perspective

• Operational experience across guidelines, patterns, and systems

• Knowledge and experience of development - you can speak the language and understand how developers think

• Experience working closely with and supporting a CPO or product team

• Strong ability to interpret and act on data and analytics insights

• Genuinely passionate, curious, and up to date on all things design

• Strong understanding and advocacy for design thinking and user-first methodologies

We love hanging out with each other at the office and hope you do too! Ideally, you work from the office at least 3 days a week, but we are flexible and understand that life looks different for everyone. You'll be based in our Stockholm office in Södermalm.
